Jacqui Hicks: Swinging Jazz Standards

Voted one of the UK’s top jazz vocalists, Jacqui Hicks built her jazz credentials first as vocalist with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and later on worldwide tours with the jazz/funk band Shakatak.

Jacqui sings jazz ballads with poise, elegance and beauty and her swinging jazz style is effortless and understated, She has several recordings under her own name, has a long standing association with John Critchinson and is currently appearing with Paul Lacey’s Back to Basie Orchestra.

The musical support team for Jacqui is led on trumpet by Martin Shaw, one of UK’s top jazz soloists; expert in everything from classic jazz to funk and fusion

Making a welcome return to St James is the outstanding trio of Chris Ingham – piano, Andrew Brown – double bass and George Double – drums
