Invade my Privacy

21 September 2014

Lucy Dixon and Howard Samuels first met in the Sondheim musical ‘Company’ worked together again in the National Theatre’s production of Frogs and then worked with director Linda Marlowe on the highly acclaimed original production of ‘Invade my Privacy’. Tonight they reunite to reveal their capacity for bittersweet emotion through music in an entirely new collection of material from the genius that was, and is, Fran Landesman.

‘Sexy, sleazy, sizzling, sorrowful and fabulous to witness….this review comes with a strong recommendation to catch this show’ Musical Theatre Review July 2014

Fran Landesman was a beat poet, songwriter and lifelong bohemian until her death in July 2011. She had been asked out for tea by an admiring Bette Davis and has been labelled ‘..one of my heroes’ by Tom Waits. Her work combines pathos and humour and glows with the tough wisdom gleaned from a lifetime of riding in fast convertibles and hanging out in smoky bars.

‘ The authority on thoughts you wished you’d expressed and jokes you should have made’ Cosmopolitan
